Bodhi Temple Charity Crowdfunding Project Plan

What does charity crowdfunding mean?

Crowdfunding is a means of pooling money through a collective contribution. Through crowdfunding that does not provide charitable financial income, projects are supported or money is donated as charity without financial benefit.

What is the purpose of the Bodhi Temple Charity Crowdfunding Project?

Responding to the supporter's request, the Estonian Theravada Sangha Monastery plans to build a Buddha temple in the old town of Tallinn (the existing temple is located on a leased space at Niguliste 4, with a fixed-term contract). For this purpose, it is planned to buy a house suitable for building a temple in the old town or in the city center area.
As part of the charity crowdfunding project, it is planned to get a loan for the temple to buy a house and to find people who will voluntarily undertake to pay monthly repayments to the lender (bank) in the amount freely chosen by the funder, which ranges from €35 to €500.

What are the risks associated with crowdfunding?

Although crowdfunding is an innovative method of raising funds, it must be taken into account that for various reasons a project participant may lose their monthly income. Therefore, it would be worthwhile to participate in the charity crowdfunding project of the Bodhi Temple only within the limits of such an amount, the payment of which does not affect a person's daily life.
