In 2016, the Head monk of the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, of Chiang Mai, established the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Meditation Centre on Aegna Island, Estonia.
The plan is to rebuild the entire house: on the ground (zero) floor, there will be catering facilities, a laundry room, a heating system, storage rooms, and other technical spaces. On the second floor is a meditation hall, office and living quarters for the teacher. The third floor will have rooms for meditators. Additionally, a new rooftop fourth floor will be constructed for meditators' dwellings, along with a new roof. In total, the facility will
accommodate 40-50 meditators at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Meditation Center.
The total cost of the reconstruction is estimated at EUR 750 000.
